REVERSED

Visual Description of The Fool:

The Fool is the main character in the Major Arcana. He is leaving home for the first time and about to embark on a journey that will change his life forever. He’s got his satchel packed and is about to take a leap of faith over the edge of the cliff before him, but his head is turned upwards at the clouds, which represent his dreams. Everything looks bright and new to him, like the innocent white rose in his hand. To him the world is filled with boundless possibilities just waiting to be explored. The dog at his feet is loyally protecting him, but the mountains in the distance, which are ever-present, represent the challenges he is yet to face.

Divinatory Meaning of The Fool:

Upright Meaning of The Fool Tarot Card:

The querent is embarking on a journey. This journey may be physical, emotional or Spiritual. It is time for them to explore the unknown and become wiser than they currently are, as such the journey will have trials, but these trials will serve to teach the querent valuable life lessons.

‘It’s time to take a leap of faith and follow your inner calling. Everything will fall into place, even if your exact destination seems unclear at present. You have a lot going for you at this time and it’s time to get started on a new journey or chapter in your life. You might not feel 100% ready, but that’s what taking a leap of faith is all about. Trust in your own abilities and you’ll reach your destination.

The Fool is all about taking risks and starting new things. If you don’t take chances you won’t grow in life. Nobody knows this better than the Fool. He is about to embark on the journey of a lifetime. His journey is told by the rest of the cards in the Major Arcana. Just like his journey is filled with ups and downs, yours will be too…

But don’t forget, just like the Fool has his loyal dog protecting him, so the universe is looking out for you. This new adventure might not always be smooth, but it will be worth it. And you will reach places you never thought you could.

A word of warning, don’t be foolish. Take risks, by all means, but remember the lessons life has already taught you. Your own knapsack is full of useful lessons, so keep those in mind. Think before you act. You may be feeling on top of the world right now, but don’t let that be a reason for the world to knock you down.

Keep your head about you and follow the inner calling that’ll take you on this glorious new journey and you won’t regret making some out of character decisions. It’s time to let your hair down a bit and have more fun with your life. Things have become stagnant, so it’s time to start doing some new things.’

Reversed Meaning of The Fool Tarot Card:

The Fool reversed suggests that even though the querent may have a need to start something new, now is not the time. Other things need to happen before the querent is ready to embark on a new quest.

‘You’re either afraid of starting something new, or the timing is off. While the Fool in Upright position suggests a bit of carefree extravagance, the reverse indicates that you’re not getting to express your creativity and zest for life. This could be as a result of two main reasons.

You may be hesitant for a good reason, there may be external factors that are holding you back at this time, in which case it would be wise to hold off on starting something new at this point. You don’t want to do something without thinking and end up losing everything you’ve worked so hard for just because of one rash decision.

On the other hand you may be having an internal struggle. You may be fearing the worst, which is causing you to put your own dreams on hold. If this is the case, work on your confidence and creativity. Let your inner child out to play a bit.

Whichever of these are the case, remember that you are protected, but the wisest choice at this time is to start small and don’t rush into anything.’
