Los palos de las cartas en el tarot y sus elementos

The suits of the cards in the tarot and their elements

The fundamental purpose of tarot card suits is to classify four elements of spiritual life: earth, water, fire and air, and the main characteristics of life with which they are aligned. This ingenious form helps us similarly to interpret our reality through the subtle notions that assist our psyche, mind and soul.

Every day we deal with emotions, finances, health, relationships, and the center of it all: our thoughts. Tarot readings help us understand our rationality and intentions. Essentially, it helps us unleash the full potential of our psyche to lead our lives as we want to.

The tarot card suits are divided into four categories:

  • Pentacles
  • Cups
  • Swords
  • Coarse

The Pentacles suit is also known as golds or coins, which symbolizes physical life or material possessions, work, health and wealth. It represents the earth element with main aspects of prosperity, manifestation and demonstration.

The Cups stick represents the water element. Influence the emotional conscious level of a person who manages relationships, connections, feelings, empathy and, above all, love. It is also known as chalices.

The stick of Swords influences our battles in life and represents the element of air. It is associated with our challenges, whether constructive or destructive, and is centered around power, strength and change. Also known as blades, this could cut us off or lead us to harm someone if there is no good mental disposition. This tarot suit assists our thoughts and judgments.

The stick of Bastos represents fire. Talk about determination, ambition, strength, and any other aspect related to moving forward or succeeding. The clubs, like the rods and canes, deal with the importance of personal energy and vigor, both internally and externally, and the pursuit of our dreams. It is associated with the realm of our spirits.
