Mayan Astrology

Much like the ancient Greeks and Romans, the people of ancient Mesoamerica used the celestial bodies to predict events and determine people’s true natures. Mayan Astrology is based on their 260 day calendar called Tzolk’in. In Mayan Astrology there are 20 signs referred to as Day Signs. The calendar is divided into groups of 20 days and a different sign represents each grouping. Mayan astrology then divides the calendar further into 13 sections of 20 days. These 13 sections are known as your Galactic Number and provide further insight into your personality. In Mayan Astrology, they use the Tzolk’in to determine everything from future events to the personalities of those born on a specific day. The Maya put great importance on living life in the present and making the most of your day. The 20 Day Signs are: Crocodile, Wind, House, Lizard, Serpent, Death, Deer, Rabbit, Water, Dog, Monkey, Grass, Reed, Jaguar, Eagle, Vulture, Earth, Knife, Storm, and Flower.
